Measure Your Space Before Choosing Plant Height

A useful height choice begins with a measurement of the intended display, not a generic rule about room size. Current Beitna Helw listings include palms with 80 cm height fields, Bird of Paradise at 95 cm and Traveller Banana options at 120 cm and 160 cm. These measurements help you shortlist products, but they do not confirm the widest leaf point or the height after using an outer planter. Build a small measurement checklist before selecting the final arrangement.

Calculate clearance from the actual support surface

For a tabletop display, measure upward from the tabletop rather than the floor. For a floor display, note any shelf, artwork or fitting above the location. Write down the plant height, available overhead clearance and the support surface height separately. Do not assume an outer planter adds its entire height: the nursery container may sit inside it.

Record spread, access and container dimensions

Ask for the widest foliage measurement and base diameter, especially when fitting beside curtains or within a furniture recess. Mark the footprint with paper and check door movement and walking routes. A comfortable visual fit should not depend on blocking switches or forcing leaves behind furniture. If dimensions are unclear, request clarification rather than making a purchase based on height alone.

Frequently asked questions

Does the listed height include the pot?

Do not assume so unless the product description states it. Confirm the measurement method and the included container on the specific listing.

Can I compare metres and centimetres directly?

Convert to one unit first: 1.2 m equals 120 cm, and 1.6 m equals 160 cm. Then compare with measurements taken from your display surface.
